Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By accessing or using RME, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to complete normal RME account setup or use RME's normal account-based features. By completing that setup or continuing to use those normal features, you represent that you are 18 or older, legally able to enter this agreement, and providing accurate account information. Keep your account credentials secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

If RME determines that an account holder is under 18, normal product access will be disabled. This limited account state is not permission to use RME's normal account-based features. The account holder may still review applicable legal and privacy information, contact support, request or obtain an available copy of account data, sign out, and request account deletion. RME may retain limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or completion of an account-deletion request.

3. Safety and real-world decisions

Travel, camping, meeting people, operating vehicles, and marketplace transactions involve real-world risk. RME information may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or user submitted. Verify access rules, weather, road conditions, land ownership, closures, vehicle limits, and personal safety before acting. RME does not guarantee that any place, person, route, listing, or event is safe, legal, available, or suitable.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use RME to harass, stalk, exploit, deceive, discriminate, spam, violate law, trespass, damage land, interfere with the Services, scrape data without permission, evade safety controls, impersonate others, or distribute malware. Do not post precise locations that could endanger people, wildlife, cultural sites, or private property.

5. User content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant RME a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, improve, and promote the Services, subject to your settings and applicable law. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you post.

6. Marketplace

RME may help users discover and communicate about listings, but RME is not the buyer, seller, owner, inspector, carrier, payment provider, or guarantor unless expressly stated. Inspect items, verify identity and ownership, use safe meeting practices, and comply with applicable taxes, registration, licensing, and other laws.

7. Embers and purchases

RME supports optional Ember pack purchases through Apple, Google Play, or Stripe where offered. Available packs, prices, and any platform-specific bonus are shown before checkout. Purchased, earned, and promotional Embers can be used for eligible digital features in RME after server verification.

Embers are a limited, non-transferable license to use eligible virtual features inside RME. They are not money, property, a deposit, or redeemable for cash. If a web Ember pack is separately offered, the amount shown includes any stated web bonus; applicable tax is calculated separately at checkout. RME credits a purchase only after the payment provider verifies successful payment.

Purchased Embers do not expire. RME will not arbitrarily remove purchased Embers. We may reverse only the Embers tied to a verified refund, payment reversal, or chargeback, confirmed fraud or abuse, or when required by law. If you already spent affected Embers, later purchases may first settle the resulting Ember deficit. Contact support for billing help or to dispute an unauthorized purchase.

8. Memberships, gifts and referrals

Membership and reward terms updated October 14, 2026. Core RME features are available with a free account: Roam spots, Events, unlimited Meet swipes, Friends Map, Trailprint, achievements and Creators. Optional Supporter, Patron and Founder purchases provide the digital benefits shown in the app. Individual shop items and creator content may have separate prices. Earlier receipts or account records may call Supporter “RME Premium.”

Where offered, Supporter subscriptions cost $4.99 monthly or $39.99 annually in the U.S. Patron subscriptions cost $9.99 monthly or $79.99 annually in the U.S. Availability, the actual store price, applicable taxes, billing period and benefits are shown before purchase. A paid subscription automatically renews through the selected provider until canceled through that provider. Cancellation ordinarily leaves the verified paid term active until it ends. Starting or using free access never enrolls you in a paid subscription. No new free trial or introductory offer is included.

Under the new Supporter policy, each eligible month of a verified Supporter term provides 600 Embers and each eligible month of a verified Patron term provides 1,200 Embers. Annual billing also delivers the benefit monthly; it does not grant a full year of Embers upfront. The app verifies each eligible benefit period and prevents duplicate grants from restores or repeated provider notifications. Earlier prepaid terms retain their recorded benefit rules, including the former 400-Ember monthly or 4,800-Ember annual grant where that was the purchased offer; a change never removes value already promised for a paid term.

Where offered, Founder is a limited one-time $99 U.S. purchase providing lifetime Supporter status for that RME account, a numbered Founder identity, 2,500 Embers once and one map-icon choice. If the account already bought a map icon with Embers when it becomes a Founder, the icon choice is replaced by 1,000 additional Embers. Founder does not include the recurring monthly subscription Ember allowance. An existing separately renewing subscription is not canceled automatically; manage it with its billing provider.

The new U.S. Ember pack amounts, where offered, are 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000 Embers. Active Supporters, Patrons and Founders receive a 20% bonus on their own qualifying pack purchases. Gift packs receive only the stated base amount. Older purchases keep their original pack quantities. The exact product, amount and price shown at checkout govern the purchase.

Membership gifts are one-time purchases for the stated month or year of Supporter or Patron and never renew. Their monthly Ember benefits follow the eligible gift periods shown in the app. If a recipient has a renewing plan, gifted time waits until it can be applied without replacing that plan or duplicating its benefits. Pay-it-forward purchases provide Supporter time to the community gift pool; they are digital membership gifts, not charitable donations. Gifts cannot be exchanged, re-gifted or redeemed for cash. A provider-approved gift refund returns to the original purchaser and may reverse the matching delivered value; a recipient cannot exchange it for a refund.

A distinct new friend can record your personal referral code or approved creator code before first completing account setup. The friend qualifies after verifying their phone number and either completing their profile or publishing their first post. Each qualifying friend earns you one Supporter calendar month and receives one free week of Supporter. Every fifth qualifying friend earns you an additional bonus month: five qualifying friends earn six months in total. Earned months stack. Invitations alone, self-referrals, duplicate accounts, automated activity, reused identities, and fraudulent or removed qualifying activity do not earn rewards. No purchase is required.

For members without a paid subscription, earned access is scheduled after existing complimentary access. For paid subscribers, earned time is saved until a supported provider offer or other verified fulfillment applies it. Store acceptance may be required. Saved time does not by itself change renewal dates or stop charges. If you choose a paid plan while complimentary access remains, paid billing begins as shown at checkout and the unused free time is saved separately; it is not silently forfeited. Referral, welcome and other complimentary access does not include the paid subscription Ember allowance. A retained historical no-card trial does not renew, and never starts a charge; new blanket signup trials are no longer offered.

RME may change future Ember pack prices, shop redemption costs, plan benefits, promotional amounts, eligibility requirements, and referral offers. The current offer and effective date will be disclosed before a new purchase or qualifying action, with advance notice and renewed consent where required for an existing subscription. Changes apply prospectively and do not arbitrarily remove already granted Embers or earned access, expire purchased Embers, or reduce benefits promised for an already paid term. An offer is recorded using the rules that applied when it was earned or purchased.

Granted Embers do not expire. RME may reverse only benefits tied to a verified refund, payment reversal, subscription revocation, confirmed fraud or abuse, or a legal requirement. If affected Embers were already spent, the exact reversed benefit remains recorded as a deficit until its matching reversal is restored or support reconciles it. Contact support to dispute an adjustment.

9. Enforcement

We may investigate reports and remove content, limit features, suspend accounts, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with law. We may preserve relevant information as permitted by law.

10. Intellectual property

RME names, logos, interface designs, software, and other materials provided by us are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of RME intellectual property.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, safety, or uninterrupted availability.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RME and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits or data, personal injury, property damage, or losses arising from user conduct, travel decisions, locations, listings, transactions, or reliance on user-provided information.

13. Changes and consent

We may update the Services and these Terms. When a change requires renewed consent, RME will present the updated Terms and effective date and require affirmative acceptance before normal product access resumes. Declining an update will not prevent access to available privacy information, support, data-export, sign-out, or account-deletion controls.
